OpenVPN Installation Guide – Ubuntu 14.04 64bit

1Download the Anonine configuration file(s) here: https://anonine.com/sv/account/server-info

2Click right mouse button and select "Extract Here":

You will see:

3Next we will install needed software: Click on "Dash Home" button in left top corner and search "Ubuntu Software Center":

4Ubuntu Software Center will open:

5Search for "network-manager-openvpn-gnome" and click "Install":

6You will be prompted for administrative credentials:

7In several seconds you will see it installed:

8Let's configure OpenVPN: Click on Network-Manager icon => VPN Connections => Configure VPN:

9Click "Add":

10Choose "OpenVPN":

11Select server area you would like to connect to from downloaded configs in step 2:

1212. Fill:

  • "Connection name" – VPN profile name.
  • "Gateway" – copy from OpenVPN config you have selected.
  • "Type": Password.

13Fill your "User name" and "Password":

And click on "CA Certificate".

14Select CA Certificate from downloaded configs folder:

and click "Open".

15Click "Advanced":

16Ensure port – get it from config file in the end of "remote" string. Other settings as shown:

and click OK.

17Click "Save":

If you would like to use several server locations, configure several OpenVPN profiles (steps 9-17).

18Click "Close":

19VPN configuration finished. Let's use our VPN: Click on "Network-Manager" => VPN Connection => Anonine Chicago USA:

20If you configured VPN correctly you will see:

Now you are connected to Anonine and can browse anonymously!
